Overall, the FLAMME Kingston 52" electric fireplace is a solid choice if you’re mainly after ambience with bonus heat.
It looks good once assembled, fills a wall nicely, and the combination of flame colours and fuel bed options lets you tweak the style to suit your room. The heater is perfectly adequate for a typical living room or bedroom as a top-up, and the fan noise is there but not unbearable. The remote and thermostat make it easy to live with, and being freestanding with a standard plug keeps installation simple.It’s not perfect. The surround is clearly engineered wood, the warranty is only 12 months, and the manual is a bit vague. If you’re expecting high-end furniture quality or a full replacement for central heating, this won’t do it. But if you want a reasonably priced, modern-looking electric fireplace that makes your room feel more finished and provides decent warmth when you need it, it gets the job done. I’d recommend it to renters, people without a chimney, or anyone who wants a quick visual upgrade without major building work. If you only care about pure heating performance per pound spent, you’re better off with a basic fan heater and skipping the fake flames entirely.
